Spring 2014:

Lady Bird Johnson Park entered "Design Development" in early January of 2014. The most important improvements to the park will be at the entry.  We plan to improve the street frontage with a row of native Huisache trees. As you near the entry, the chain link fence fabric will change into a beautiful, lacy fence fabric similar to the one shown above. Other planned improvements include lighting at the existing basketball courts, and improved parking. If budget allows, a dog park and additional shade at the pool are possibilities.

Spring 2013

On January 24, 2013, we kicked off the process of planning for improvements at Lady Bird Johnson Park, which is located on Nacogdoches Road in Northeast San Antonio. The 78 acre park acts as a trailhead for the Salado Creek Greenway. Facilities include a much-used community center, a swimming pool, skate park, and several leased facilities that provide athletic activities and child care.

The park was included in San Antonio's 2012 Bond Election package.
