Weave founder Becky Schenker applies the principal that “A Girl Scout leaves a place better than she found it” to her professional and personal life. Appreciative of the efforts, investment, and history represented in the existing built environment, she understands that existing places are valuable, but can often be improved with thoughtful renovation and insertion of new building fabric. Knowing that the architect's collaboration, design, and planning skills are critical to civic discussion, she pursues a better world through leadership within the profession. Understanding that a strong community is composed of myriad smaller communities, she focuses her personal time on activities that gather people together while encouraging them to enjoy, assist, and learn from each other.
